"The only touring company of children performing for children in Connecticut"

The Newington Children's Theatre CompanyThis CPBN Media Lab web exclusive will introduce you to the Newington Children's Theatre Company. NCTC has entertained thousands of people since its founding in 1963 by the Newington Parks and Recreation Department.

The Newington Children's Theatre Touring Company, is the only one of its kind in Connecticut, and gives its young cast the opportunity each year to tour a fully-staged musical to audiences throughout the state and in New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey, and Virginia.

Now presenting Sleeping Beauty, recent shows include:  Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleepy Hollow, The Jungle Book, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Oz, Beauty and the Beast, and The Secret Garden.

In 2002, a group of volunteers associated with the program for many years, decided with the Newington Parks and Recreation Department, that it was time for us to move forward and become an independent publicly supported theatre organization carrying on the same traditions and more. Thus, began The Newington Children's Theatre Company.

The Newington Children's Theatre Company governed by a Board of Directors, is committed to presenting the best in children's theatre. Through its performances, classes and workshops, its Summer Theatre Arts Program for students aged 8-14, and its newest program, the Summer Musical Theatre Program for high school and college students, NCTC helps to foster a better understanding of the theatre arts.
