Episode Information

WWL: The Rest is Noise
The sounds of 20th century classical music can fit a lot of descriptions - atonal, romantic, minimal, popular. There’s no concensus on what this era of music meant, but it’s left a rich impression on our next guest, Alex Ross. He’s the music critic from the New Yorker, and will join us to talk about his recent book The Rest is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century.
Ross will be speaking at the Arts and Ideas Festival in New Haven Thursday June 18, 5:30PM at the Yale University Art Gallery.
