Episode Information

Peter Galbraith has been one of the leading voices about the wars, and ongoing nation-building in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was recently fired from his post in Afghanistan with the United Nations, after a conflict with his boss there…about the UN’s handling of the tainted August elections. He’s been very critical of the Karzi government there, and skeptical of US plans to add troops.
His 2006 Book, The end of Iraq advocated a type of partition of that country, based on the ethnic realities there. His close ties to the people of Kurdistan have come under scrutiny in recent weeks, after articles that revealed he had financial interest in Kurdish oil fields, and stood to reap millions of dollars.
He was in Connecticut to speak to the World Affairs Council of Connecticut.
