In the "Next American City" - citizens will be able to communicate directly with public officials through innovative new media. Or, maybe that's already here.
This week, the publication "Next American City" kicks off a conference in Washington devoted to shaping urban policy through new media. It's something that many communities, inlcuding those in Connecticut, have fully embraced. In part, because they've found that low-cost web tools are often a better way to serve constituents, and use "crowdsourcing" to help solve civic problems.
Today, Where We Live, we'll talk to Diana Lind, the editor and publisher of Next American City, about their vision.
