Amann spent four years as speaker of the house, and nearly 20 years as a lawmaker.

His run for governor has gotten off to a rough start. He accepted a high-paid job to work for the current Speaker of the House – and then quickly changed his mind amidst public pressure. And, new poll numbers show he’s fighting an uphill battle against Republican incumbent Jodi Rell and other Democratic challengers.
