The National Theater of the Deaf is the oldest continuous touring production company in the United States - and it's in our own backyard. The deaf community has received a lot of attention due to advances with cochlear implants - and their acceptance or rejection of this new technology. Other issues like lack of education are sometimes overlooked. Coming up, Where We Live, we talk to the new Executive Director of the National Theater of the Deaf, Aaron Kubey. The theater is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The 40th Anniversary Angels Dinner Gala, will be an evening of dining, company reminiscence and recognition. There will also be a silent auction of donated items featuring gifts, travel, culture, theatre and more. The Gala will be held at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, Connecticut from 6:30 pm to midnight. Donation is $150 per person.
