Connecticut's Junior Senator, Joseph Lieberman, joined John Dankosky by phone from Washington. John asked him about tensions between the United States and Turkey over a vote in the Turkish parliment that would allow cross-border incursions into a Kurdish region of Iraq, and over a possible resolution in the U.S. Congress declaring the killing of Armenians by Ottoman Turks nearly a century ago a "genocide".
Lieberman also addressed questions raised during our returning veterans program last Friday. Veterans told us the military was near the breaking point, with too few personnel, long deployments, and insufficent downtime.
