Episode Information

Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House of Representatives and the first in a recent line of high-profile political leaders...who are women.Â
The California congresswoman is the first woman to sit in the speaker's chair - and her ascension to the job came just before the historic Presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton - and the unlikely Vice Presidential bid of Sarah Palin.Â
Pelosi is touring the US - drumming up support for Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, raising money for congressional Democrats, as she hopes to widen the party's control of the house, and talking about her book: "Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters."Â
Friday, she came to the Hartford Club to speak to the World Affairs Council of Connecticut - and to kick off their Global Forum on women's issues. We'll talk about the landmark year for women in politics.
