The number of babies born prematurely in the US is up 30% in the past 20 years, and nearly 4000 will be born early in Connecticut alone.

Some of the smallest babies are less than a pound, and can spend months and even years battling for their lives in hospitals. This comes at a great monetary cost, but more importantly, takes an enormous emotional toll on parents.

A new documentary by Alissa Wood for CPTV explores the world inside the Neonatal INtensive Care Unit, or NICU,and tells the stories of parents and their premature babies.
