Joe Visconti is an unlikely candidate for Congress.  He's running against the entrenched Democrat John Larson for the first District seat.

The West Hartford resident made his name politically as a vocal opponent to the Blue Back Squarre development plan.  He serves on the West Hartford Town Council’s Community Planning and Development Committee, is a Council liaison to the West Hartford Board of Education and is a member of the West Hartford Taxpayer’s Association.  He's also a private businessman and singer-songwriter.

Today, Where We Live we'll continue our series of conversations with candidates for office in Connecticut - and we'll welcome in Joe Visconti to take your questions.

We'll talk about the economic bailout package - and what it means for residents of the first district, and we'll talk about his call for investigations in Hartford and New Haven as "sanctuary cities" for illegal immigrants.

Join the conversation!  Add your suggestions, questions and comments below.

Mr. Dankosky,

I don't understand why you are sounding so upset by the idea of
"cutting off the food supply" to illegal immigrants. Did you miss the
word "illegal"? Are you for illegal acts in our country? If I were to
commit a crime would you sit there and cry out for my children and
what will happen to them while I serve time in prison? I think not. I
wholeheartedly support Joe Visconti and wish more politicians would
take a stand against the illegal happenings in our country.

"cut off their food supply"

This is one of the most compassion-less statements I have heard in twenty years.  I am now absolutely sure of my vote and plan on sharing your program with as many people as possible so that they can hear it straight from his mouth.  I hope that Mr. Visconti does not forget that we are humans first and citizens second.

Thanks for your show.
