David Capiello's campaign for Congress got a big boost last month, when President Bush came to Kent. The $750 thousand raised at the home of Henry Kissenger provides a kick start to the Republican's run against incumbent Democrat Chris Murphy. But, the presidential support cuts both ways.

The event drew big protests to the region, and some congressional candidates have been wary of getting too close to a President whose approval ratings have hit rock-bottom.

Capiello has at times joined the chorus of those critical of President Bush...comments that got him in hot water with some local Republican officials.

Today, where we live, State Senator David Capiello joins us to talk about his run for congress and the end of the state legislative session.

I listened to this man on

I listened to this man on the news and he is saying that Chris Murphy could have done more about the rising gas prices. He was complaining about George Bush going to Iraq and then uses the president for a fund raiser, how can anyone have faith in a man like that. How can it be Murphy"s fault for not doing anything about the gas prices when the president of this country as well as the vice-president are both oil men and are going to bleed the people of this country as long as they can get away with it!!
