Pakistan is the sixth-largest country in the world, and squarely in the center of the world's most pressing political, religious and economic issues.

The country's main political party is proposing sweeping changes in an attempt to limit the power of President, and US ally, Pervez Musharraf. The shift comes months after the assasination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Meanwhile a recent car-bombing at the Danish embassy in Islamabad killed eight people. It comes amid the controversy over Danish cartoons about the prophet Mohammed, and has raises security concerns among foriegners in the country.

Today where we live - we're going to take a look inside the politics, the religion and the culture of Pakistan, and it's role in the world. We'll talk to a Connecticut scholar, and a Pakistani civic leader, and to journalist Ahmed Rashid whose new book, "Descent into Chaos" chronicles the US role in nation building in the region
