The latest state poll is bad news for John McCain, and Governor Rell's taken her first big tumble in her approval ratings. What does this mean for the state GOP?

The Connecticut Republican party is often defined by the unique "Connecticut" nature of its Republicans, not bound by any clear ideology, a mix of social liberals, fiscal conservatives, libertarians, and others. Right now, who is the biggest name in the state pushing for a John McCain victory?-Independent Senator Joe Lieberman who is still caucusing with the Democrats.

So, what's the state of the Republican party? Can it muster enough support to turn this blue state red? Can it compete on the national playing field in the tightly contested 2nd and 5th congressional districts? And what about the uncontested seats for the state legislature?

Today, where we live, we welcome in Chris Healy - Chairman of the Connecticut Republican Party.
