UTC-Supported FIRST Teams Highlighted on CPBN and CTSN
Four FIRST robotics high school teams and their UTC engineering mentors will be the subject of RoboNation – CT FIRST, an original online Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN) Media Lab program. Scroll down this page to watch it now.
The full length feature RoboNation will follow the teams as they prepare for and participate in the Connecticut FIRST Robotics Competition held recently at the Connecticut Convention Center. The teams -- Birds of Prey, Paragon, RAGE, and ÜberBots -- exemplify the best of the FIRST competition, including team work, success, career development and a strong working relationship between the students and engineering mentors from UTC.
The RoboNation feature's broadcast premiere originally aired on the Connecticut Sports Network (CTSN) and streamed online at CTSN.tv. CTSN is a partnership of Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and WFSB-TV 3, and is available on Comcast cable channels 185 and 187.
Another UTC-sponsored team, BUZZ, was the subject of a segment on All Things Connecticut, a new program on CPTV. BUZZ team members were interviewed during the recent Connecticut FIRST Robotics Competition. Watch the segment now. All Things Connecticut, described as “information-rich and fast-paced,” will air as an eight-part series every Thursday at 8 p.m., starting April 23. Rebroadcasts will be aired on Mondays at 11 p.m. and Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
UTC supported 30 teams at the Connecticut FIRST Robotics Competition, all of whom embodied the “gracious professionalism” that has become the ethos of the FIRST program.
Production funding for RoboNation: CT FIRST is made possible in part by Alstom Power.
