Scout Niblett was one of the first musicians I ever wrote about on theneedledrop.com, so it feels like a "personal victory" to actually land this interview, because it's almost as if something is coming full circle. And while I'm in the midst of a transition, so is Scout, which is what her new album boils down to.

As if the title didn't give it away, The Calcination of Scout Niblett is about change and introspection. These things are rarely easy, and they never happen quickly. Though this album doesn't exactly see her all the way through this personal shift, we can at least get a glimpse of it through this album; knowing she's keeping a cool head for the ride.
