Brooklyn’s the National have just released their fifth studio album, High Violet, and it’s one of their most lush, colorful efforts to date. The additional instrumentation really brings the bleak attitude of this band to a new level. That combined with some tight drumming and baritone vocals, this record is a sure standout for this year.
