This week on The Needle Drop, one of the most varied bands I've come across this year: Javelin. They're a duo of cousins out of New York, and their new album, No Mas, just can't sit still. It's a musical shape shifter, and jumps flawlessly from the sounds of synth pop to the attitude of vintage New Orleans funk. The plethora of ideas and styles championed by this band a shock, but a good one.

We've also got a new tracks from Neon Indian, Teen Sheikhs, and Wye Oak; plus, The Strange Boys' latest album, Be Brave. It's a Texan garage rock party, but there's a soft side to the album, too.
