Episode Information
TND: An Interview with Miles Cleret
Host:
The 60s and 70s were a politically volitile time for Ghana, but that didn't make its music scene any less interesting.
Back then, the sounds of soul, reggae, funk, and calypso were inspiring young musicians to take highlife music to another level of experimentation. Soundway Records recently issued a compilation marking this musical movement, Ghana Special: Modern Highlife, Afro-Sounds, and Ghanian Blues 1968 - 1981, and this interview features the release's compiler, Soundway founder Miles Cleret.
