My Music

Legends of the 1960s unite in this all-new live performance "My Music" special. Co-hosts Peter Noone and Davy Jones sing their biggest hits focusing on the years 1965-1969. This latest follow up to "My Generation - The '60s" includes pop sounds from Frat Rock to Surf Pop, the British Beats to the Breakthrough Bands, Motown, Soul and Pop classics--with many artists and groups appearing for the first time on the "My Music" stage.

Doo Wop, music of the 50's, has been public television's biggest hit in the 90's, and now Cleveland has been selected to launch the next wave of great hits in the new millennium - a group of hit-generating bands of the 60's gathered together on one stage for a FIRST time ever concert on August 12, 2003 at the historic Cleveland Music Hall. Tommy James and the Shondells, Peter Noone and Herman's Hermits, The Grass Roots featuring Rob Grill, Chad and Jeremy (performing for the first time together in two decades), Carl Giammarese and the Buckinghams, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, and Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders performed 14 Top Ten Hits. Co-producers Mike Macari and George Veras decided that Cleveland Rocks. Veras knew the passion that Cleveland has for this type of music. "I have been coming back here regularly since the mid-80's after moving to New York. I was always amazed at the depth of passion for this music and couldn't believe it when Mike brought me the project." Mike Macari added, "When George brought me to Cleveland, I felt the same vibe, especially when WVIZ pledged tickets in late June and they flew out the window. On the success of "Doo Wop" on PBS, we have assembled the hit-makers of a generation, artists who've sold hundreds of millions of records, to celebrate the music and give "heir Generation" the gift of music."
