PBS NEWSHOUR STUDENT REPORTING LAB AT AMERICA'S CHOICE AT SAND
Media Is Magic, a digital media and journalism enrichment collaboration between America’s Choice at SAND School, Hartford Public Schools and Connecticut Public Television that has helped children develop the academic, technical and life skill needed for success, is the subject of an original documentary that premieres on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 8:30 p.m. on CPTV. The show will be rebroadcast on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 9:00 a.m.
Media is Magic 2013 was produced and edited by Media Lab graduate Mark Yaworowski. He also served as the lead classroom instructor. The Media Lab, part of CPBN’s Eucation Department, develops production and instructional expertise by providing a real-world learning opportunity for college students and recent graduates with a passion for digital media and journalism. Media Lab interns serve as additional mentors and technical experts.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is a supportive funder of the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Lab, as it coincides with their American Graduate Project which helps communities implement solutions to the high school dropout crisis.
