George Pelecanos, producer and writer on HBO's The Wire: Photo by Chion WolfGeorge Pelecanos, producer and writer on HBO's The Wire: Photo by Chion WolfHBO's Peabody-Award Winning drama "The Wire" has it's final episode this Sunday night. The show has gained a devoted following - and spawned numerous online discussion groups. It's a crime drama - a genre that fills TV screens each night - but this one is different. It's about an American city - Baltimore - and it's struggles with crime and drugs - and the intersections of gangs, the police, politicians and the media.

One of it's writers, George Pelecanos, is in Hartford to talk about urban storytelling in a class called "Writing The City" at Trinity college. He'll also be speaking about his 2005 book "Drama City: Spirituality, Morality and the Urban Sense."
