The face of politics in America has long been a white-haired man in a gray suit, the father-figure as political icon. But times are changing.
With Nancy Pelosi serving as the first female speaker of the House, and Hillary Clinton easily leading in Presidential polls, women are taking a leading role in American politics. But as we head into the important Election 2008, many of the same questions still come up, are voters ready for a woman President? Do they hold women politicians to different standards than men?
We'll be talking about the impact of leading female political figures and the role of women behind the scenes, in the voting booths and organizing campaigns. We'll explore what issues are important to women in this upcoming election and we'll look at how "unmarried women" are the new "soccer moms", the target demographic up for grabs.
