Watch and engage yourself in many film clips, interviews, rare footage and photographs that depict what life was like for many professionals that fled Germany when Hitler became chancellor in 1933. Hitler banned Jews from working in Germany's film inudustry. 

Consequently, more than 800 film professionals left and settled in Hollywood from 1933 through 1939 such as Fritz Lang, Henry Koster, Billy Wilder, and actors Peter Lorre and Felix Bressart. Cinema's Exiles: From Hitler to Hollywood traces the experiences of those men and women who were forced to leave their homeland and the overwhelming impact it has had on both German and American cinema culture and industry.
