On July 6, 1944, The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus Big Top caught fire during an afternoon performance in Hartford, Connecticut, leaving over 160 people dead and hundreds more wounded. The devastating event became one of the deadliest fire disasters in the history of the United States. Video footage, photographs and interviews with several survivors offer insights into the tragedy and how the aftermath of the fire affected the city, as well as the circus industry.
