In 2007, the State of Connecticut brought in more than $430 million dollars in gaming revenues from  local tribal casinos Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.  So it's hard to argue that what happens to the gaming industry isn't important to the state as a whole.  It's an industry that's brought thousands of jobs to the region and shaped the local economies in surrounding communities.  So what happens when hard times hit?  Long thought of as “recession-proof,” casinos, it turns out, aren't immune the the economic woes facing the rest of the country.  Today on Where We Live—we're talking with the CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority about the gaming industry.  What does the slowdown mean for the casinos and the people who work and play there?
