Though the Bristol Press and the New Britain Herald escaped closure when a buyer emerged last week, struggles like those of the Journal Register Company have become common in an industry at a crossroads.   Today on Where We Live, a look at local newspapers and the newspaper industry.  How are layoffs, buyouts and closures changing the way we get our information and what happens to society when there are fewer full-time watchdogs being paid to report the news?  We'll talk to newspaper veterans who still work in print--and one reporter whose made the leap to online reporting.  What kind of news is working for Connecticut cities and what does the future hold?  We'd like to hear from our listeners, too.  Do you read a local daily paper?  Where do you get your news?
