Tim Black, Ph.D., director of CSR and Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Hartford. His research focuses on poverty, race/ethnicity, social welfare, and human service program development and assessment. He has studied home visitation programs to strengthen vulnerable families for 12 years as well as fatherhood initiative programs. He is currently completing a book entitled, When a Heart Turns Rock Solid: How Jobs and Prison Shaped a Generation of Puerto Rican Men, based upon a 18-year ethnographic study of marginalized Puerto Rican men.
