Thomas W. Merrill is a Professor of Law at Yale Law School. Merrill graduated in 1971 from Grinnell College and in 1973 from Oxford, where he became a Rhodes Scholar. In 1977 he graduated with his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Merrill has previously taught at Northwestern University and Columbia and has been published in various prestigious law reviews and co-written several textbooks. He began his career as a law clerk at the D.C. Court of Appeals.
