Steven F. Lawson is a professor of history at Rutgers.  He edited One American in the Twenty-first Century: The Report of President Bill Clinton's Initiative on Race.  He was also scholar-advisor for the award-winning PBS documentary series Eyes on the Prize.  Lawson has served as consultant for NAACP, the Justice Department, and the ACLU.
