Released in 2000, Robin Cullen had served 3 years at York Correctional Institution in Niantic, CT for a one vehicle DUI crash which resulted in the death of her girlfriend on their way home from a wedding. Robin is a member of the original therapeutic writing group formed at York, facilitated by Wally Lamb; a contributor to the 2003 prison anthology, â€œCouldnâ€™t Keep It To Myself,â€ edited by Lamb; and joined Wally and a few of the other previously incarcerated women writers on the 2003 east coast book tour. She currently serves with the developing Arts In Criminal Justice Alliance. Robin is in her third year of employment with Mothersâ€™ Against Drunk Driving (MADD) as Victim Impact Panel Coordinator, facilitating a court mandated program in CT, for first time DUI offenders. She is a featured speaker with MADD presenting â€œThe Hard Truth,â€ a hard hitting, impacting program exacting the permanent effects of drunk driving to high school and college students.
