Robert F. Leduc was named president of Hamilton Sundstrandâ€™s Flight Systems business in December 2004 after serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer of United Technologiesâ€™ Pratt & Whitney business unit.
Hamilton Sundstrand is a market leader in the design, manufacture and service of military, commercial and business aircraft systems. Leduc has responsibility for Hamilton Sundstrandâ€™s actuation; propeller; Kidde Aerospace & Defense, and Space, Land & Sea businesses. He also sits on the boards of Ratier-Figeac of France, Microtecnica of Italy, and Claverham of the United Kingdom.
Leduc has risen to the top ranks of United Technologies Corp. since beginning his career in 1978 as an engineer at Pratt & Whitney. In 2000 Leduc was named president, Commercial Engines, Pratt's largest business segment. He was named chief operating officer in September 2000 and executive vice president in 1999 where he improved the organization's performance through lean manufacturing techniques and business process improvements. From 1995 to 1999 Leduc served as senior vice president, Programs & Services, where he had program responsibility for the PW2000, PW4000, and PW6000 engine programs. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility including director of Strategic Planning, Engineering manager, and executive assistant to the president.
Leduc is also a board member of the Wings Club.
