Ray also serves as Director of Public Affairs for CPTV. Ray moderates many public forums, including a 2007 panel discussion on the Middle Class Squeeze for the New Haven Festival of Arts and Ideas. Ray began his broadcasting career at WFSU in Tallahassee, Florida. Through the years he has won numerous journalism awards.
Five years ago Ray brought his hosting abilities and journalistic style to CPTV, first serving as a correspondent on CPTV ‘s newsmagazine Main Street. A year later he was named the host of Main Street, and in 2005 was given his own talk show on CPTV, Front and Center with Ray Hardman. In that time he has interviewed such notable people as Governor M. Jodi Rell, NBA all-star Dikembe Mutombo, Academy award winning actress Olympia Dukakis, Senators Christopher Dodd and Joe Lieberman, and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.
Ray holds degrees from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Florida State University. Ray lives in West Hartford with his wife Kathleen, and their son Benjamin.
