Rabbi Zachary I. Heller, Associate Director of the National Center for Jewish Policy Studies at Hebrew College since 1997, served as rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, Bayonne, NJ for three decades. As President of the World Council of Masorti Synagogues ('89-'94), he lectured and taught around the globe and mentored rabbis in many communities. Among his publications, Re-envisioning the Synagogue (ed.2005 Hollis Press for Hebrew College and STAR) has been acquired by over 900 congregations and their rabbis as a resource for long-range evaluation and planning. He is currently editing two new volumes, one on Secular Jewishness and the other on Denominations in Jewish Life.
