Norman Garrick

Norman Garrick was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He received his Ph.D. in 1986 from Purdue University. He has received the Transportation Research Board Charley V. Wootan Award for Outstanding Paper in Policy and Organization in 2008 and the Klewin Excellence in Teaching AWard from UConn in 2007. He is a board member of the Congress for New Urbanism and a 2004 J. William Fulbright Fellow. Since 2007, he has served as director for the Center for Transportation and Urban Planning at UConn, where he has served as an associate professor since 1994. He specializes in urban streets and highway design, urban planning, bicyclist and pedestrian facility design, urban transportation systems, and sustainable transportation planning.
