Mark Van Clieaf is Managing Director of MVC Associates International.

His 18 year consulting career has focused on Organization Design, CEO and Executive Scorecard Design, Compensation & Pay for Performance Analysis and Design, and Executive / CEO Succession Planning. An integrated approach to aligning Organization Structure, Talent Management and Executive Pay to creating shareholder value.

He brings over 30 years combined experience in line management in sales & marketing, and consulting experience including a number of years with Price Waterhouse in their Business Strategy and Executive Search Consulting Practices. His career began in the advertising, graphic design, direct marketing and marketing services industries.

While at Price Waterhouse in Toronto he was part of the team that advised on setting up the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board, and he developed the first draft CEO job description for the Board of OTPPB.

He has served boards and management in a broad range of industries from Consumer Marketing, Marketing Services, Financial Services, Technology, Healthcare, Energy, across North America, Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Mark has been recognized in the business media (USA Today, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, MSNBC, ROBTV) as a thought leader in organization design, executive compensation, and pay for performance. His research on pay for performance was recently used by the largest pension funds in the world in their private submission to the US Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the need for
better executive pay disclosures. His research and articles on Work Levels, Felt Fair Pay and Pay Equity Multipliers has been recognized throughout the executive compensation consulting community.

His knowledge of executive compensation and the true market for executive talent is further enhanced through over 20 years of executive search and CEO succession planning experience. This includes over 300 executive employment agreements he has assisted in negotiating on behalf of clients.

He is a member of World at Work (formerly the American Compensation Association); guest lecturer, Corporate Governance, Ivey School of Business; Commissioner
for the National Association of Corporate Directors, Blue Ribbon Commission on CEO Succession Planning; Founding Member, Executive Selection Research Advisory Board, Center for Creative Leadership; other memberships have included the National Association of Corporate Directors and the International Corporate Governance Network.
