Lucy is also WNPR's Assignment Editor, coordinating reporters' daily news assignments and helping to organize newscasts. Lucy has worked in several states as a public radio reporter since starting out at WDUQ in Pittsburgh. She's received awards from Pennsylvania's Golden Quill, the New York State Associated Press, and from the Mayor's Asian American Advisory Board in Jacksonville, Florida. She also contributes to National Public Radio and Reuters. While at WNPR, her stories often focus on immigration issues in the state, including New Haven's controversial ID card program. When she's not in the newsroom, Lucy enjoys hiking around Connecticut - which helped break in her hiking boots for her honeymoon trek up to Machu Picchu. She also enjoys watching football and cheering for her hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. She lives in Middletown with her husband, Jason, and with their small zoo: Sidney, a labrador retriever-'kangaroo' mix, Lily, a silly hound dog, and kitties, Pancho and Charlie.
