Lara Herscovitch has over 12 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, focused on program and policy work as well as organizational development. For the past three years she has served as Connecticut Fund for the Enviroment's Director of Grants & Special Projects, working on organization-wide initiatives including strategic planning and re-branding, as well as foundation grants. Her previous role was as Director of Programs at Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation, where she provided strategic and operational leadership of the Foundation's grantmaking, and co-founded and led its Nonprofit Resource Center, an initiative focused on nonprofit organizational development(resource library, training, discussion groups). She was with Save the Children before that, focused on education/literacy as well as early childhood and youth development. Lara holds an MSW in Policy & Planning and Community Organization from the University of Connecticut's School of Social Work and a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts.
