Katie Martin, Ph.D., is a Research Associate at the Center for Public Health and Health Policy at the University of Connecticut. Her research focuses on access to healthy food, and the link between food security and obesity among disadvantaged communities. She earned a PhD in Nutrition Science & Policy from Tufts University. Dr. Martin serves as an Adjunct Professor in the MPH program at the University of Connecticut and teaches Food, Health and Politics. She is currently conducting a multi-year research project to evaluate the food environment in Hartford, particularly in corner stores.
