Karen Hobert Flynn, Chair of Connecticut Common Cause has been involved with Common Cause for more than two decades. She has been a member of the national staff, a volunteer leader on two state boards and she has been Connecticutâ€™s Executive Director for six years. Karen was a key leader and strategist of the Campaign that passed the Clean Elections law in 2005 and the legislative fixes to the law enacted in 2006 and 2007. Under her leadership at CT/Common Cause, she helped pass a sweeping gift and meal ban, a soft money ban, a phony issue ad law, and many other campaign finance and ethics laws. At the national level, Karen worked as Field Director for the Long Term Care Campaign, as Director of Campaign Finance Studies for Common Cause and as an organizer for Public Citizen and Center for Science in the Public Interest.
