Jason Epstein was the Editorial Director of Random House for forty years, where he edited many authors including Norman Mailer, Philip Roth, Vladimir Nobakov, and Gore Vidal. As a young editor of Doubleday. just out of college, Epstein created the Anchor Books imprint, which was the first of the trade paperback formats and in 1963, Epstein co-founded the New York Review of Books. Epstien is also author of Book Business: Publishing Past, Present, and Future and recipient of the National Book Award. In 2003, Epstein founded OnDemand Books, LLC, the company that markets the Espresso Book Machine.
