Gary L. Rose, Ph.D., is the Chairman of the Department of Government and Politics. His teaching and research interests include American Politics, American Presidency, Presidential Elections, Constitutional Law, State and Local Government, and Political Parties. Dr. Rose joined the Sacred Heart University faculty in 1982. His books include: Public Policy in Connecticut: Challenges and Perspectives; Connecticut Government at the Millennium; The American Presidency Under Siege; Connecticut Politics at the Crossroads; Connecticut Government and Politics: An Introduction; The Emerging Catholic Electorate; and two editions of Controversial Issues in Presidential Selection. He is a frequent commentator for various media regarding national and Connecticut politics. Dr. Rose received his Ph.D. from Miami University (Ohio) in 1982.
