Christine Baker
Why She Plays: The World of Women's Basketball

Christine Baker is currently the director of Public Relations and Marketing at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York; an adjunct professor at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York and is considered an expert on the subject of women’s basketball. Baker received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University, where her thesis project, based on women's basketball, was awarded the University's prestigious Rulewater Prize. Baker’s work on basketball includes articles for Got Game Magazine and regular coverage for Full Court Press Online (www.fullcourt.com). Her article about basketball entitled “Place of Peace” was published in the summer 2007 edition of Confluence: The Journal of Graduate Liberal Studies. In 2008, Baker published her first book, entitled Why She Plays: The World of Women’s Basketball (University of Nebraska Press 2008).
