Dr. Eitzer's primary research interest is the determination of organic pollutants in environmental matrices, including both the study of the environmental fate of chemicals and the development of new analytical methods. His current research projects include a study of organic pollutants (specifically dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls) in Quinnipiac River fin fish; development of methods for the determination of non-volatile pesticides by liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry; and determination of the fate of organic pollutants during composting.
