She's author of Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America and, most recently, Bright-Sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America. Ehrenreich serves on the board of NORML, is an honoray co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America, and The Nation's Editorial Board. She is a breast cancer survivor.
