Anna Sale covers stories from the Connecticut statehouse and throughout the Hartford area for WNPR’s Capitol Region Reporting Initiative.
Anna started her public radio career at West Virginia Public Broadcasting, where she covered breaking news, politics, business, and culture across southern West Virginia for three and a half years. Her reporting has taken her from the mouth of a coal mine after a deadly accident to Afghanistan where she covered the West Virginia Air National Guard.
Anna was named Radio Broadcast Journalist of the Year by the West Virginia AP Broadcasters Association in 2005 and a Racial Justice Fellow with the University of Southern California’s Institute for Justice and Journalism in 2007. She earned her history degree from Stanford University. She lives in Hartford with her husband Jon.
