Ana Rosa Selva has been working for Aid to Artisans since 2003. As a county director, she is responsible for identifying and developing new projects and funding opportunities within the target region (Central and South America) that fulfill the organizationâ€™s mission and strategic plan, and securing additional funding for existing projects. Responsible for overseeing, mentoring, and advising current ATA projects in Colombia in order to achieve specific program indicators.
She has provided successful oversight and management of ATAâ€™s El Salvador office which implements the USAID Artisan Development Program. The Program to date has benefited over 4,700 artisans, created 6,000 new jobs, designed over 5,000 new products, and raised the daily salary levels of Salvadoran artisans associated with the program. Local, regional, and international markets were expanded to generate US$4.2 million sales. Responsible for the evaluation, creation, and implementation of a private artisan promotion organization ALTERNATVA which has been fully operational since October 2007. The new organization was created to support Salvadoran artisans upon planned closure of the USAID funded project in June of 2009.
