I have been an educator for over 25 years.  I began my career as Spanish teacher in Stamford Public Schools.  I have also worked in private education, Jesuit education, Diocesan Special education and now Bridgeport Public Schools.  I received my BA in Spanish and Education from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.  I have a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Special Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Teaching and Foundations from Fairfield University.  My first position with the Bridgeport Public Schools was as a Bilingual Special Education teacher at John Winthrop School and East Side Middle School.  I became the first Transition Coordinator for Bridgeport Public Schools for the Birth to Three Program.  I left Bridgeport to work for the Diocese of Bridgeport as the first principal of St. Catherine Academy.  I returned to Bridgeport Public Schools in the capacity as a School Improvement Facilitator, working with the faculties and principals of Beardsley, Madison and Columbus schools.  In 2003, I became the principal of Beardsley School.  I have been married for over twenty years and I have two daughters.  One in college and the other a junior in high school.
