WNPR and Robin Hood Radio Partner to Offer WNPR Programming to Listeners in Litchfield County
On May 1, 2012, Robin Hood Radio in Sharon, Conn., and WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio began a broadcast partnership designed to provide listeners in the towns of Sharon, Lakeville, Salisbury, Cornwall and Canaan with WNPR’s signature news/talk shows. For the first time, Where We Live, The Colin McEnroe Show, and The Faith Middleton Show can be heard on the signals of Robin Hood Radio, which is also broadcast in the Berkshire County, Massachusetts towns of Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Lenox and Sheffield.
“WNPR’s local shows will now be heard in a part of our region where our signal hasn’t always reached,” said John Dankosky, WNPR news director and host of Where We Live. “We’re excited to partner with Robin Hood Radio on these daily shows, and soon, some live broadcasts from Sharon.” The agreement between Robin Hood Radio and WNPR also includes the opportunity to air a fourth hour of WNPR programming daily, however that program is still to be determined.
WNPR’s local shows will air daily, Monday through Friday. Where We Live will air from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; The Colin McEnroe Show will be broadcast from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.; and The Faith Middleton Show will air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Robin Hood Radio broadcasts on 91.9 FM and 1020 AM in Sharon and on 91.7 in Massachusetts.
“We’re always eager to showcase our local award-winning shows to new audiences across the state,” said Jerry Franklin, president and CEO of Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc., parent company of WNPR. “This partnership with Robin Hood Radio is a win-win situation for all of us. By expanding its program offerings, listeners of Robin Hood Radio get more informed local perspectives on the news of the day as well as insights into the issues impacting the state, and WNPR gets a pipeline of comments and ideas about issues impacting Litchfield County.”
