Host of WNPR’s The Faith Middleton Show receives Pathfinder Award after years working with the Connecticut Farmland Trust

Faith Middleton, eponymous host of WNPR’s The Faith Middleton Show and its popular weekly editions of The Food Schmooze, has received the Working Lands Alliance’s Farmland Preservation Pathfinder award. Middleton, along with the other recipients, will receive her distinction on Wednesday, November 17 at the Capitol building in Hartford.

Established in 2003, the Pathfinder Awards recognize individuals and groups that have significantly advanced farmland preservation through leadership, advocacy, planning, and education. They are awarded by the Working Lands Alliance (WLA), a division of the American Farmland Trust. Created in 1999 with the sole purpose of preserving Connecticut’s farmland, the WLA is a coalition of more than 600 individuals and 200 businesses and organizations that include farmers, conservationists, anti-hunger groups, planners and local food enthusiasts.

In her “never-ending exploration of the richness of life,” Faith Middleton has been a long time supporter of the Connecticut Farmland Trust, serving as chair of the Celebration of Connecticut Farms since its inception in 2001. She is in her 30th year as host and executive producer of The Faith Middleton Show, and for eleven consecutive years has been voted “Best Radio Talk Show Host” in the state by the readers and editors of Connecticut magazine. With her unique style, thought-provoking questions, and wide range of subjects, Faith has been described as “an institution” in her broadcast region. She has twice received the prestigious Peabody Award, won the Mark Twain Award from the Connecticut Press Association, the Humanitarian Award from The Children’s Community Programs of Connecticut, the Distinguished Public Service Awardof the Connecticut Bar Association (putting her in the ranks of Helen Keller, Richard Rodgers, Arthur Miller, and Dr. Henry Lee), and in 2008 was named to be a Hall of Fame recipient by Connecticut Magazine.

The Faith Middleton Show is made possible by Plan B Burger Bar.
