Proceeds From the Sale of Every Hooker Munich-Style Lager to Support CPTV & WNPR Programming and Services

The Thomas Hooker Brewing Company and the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN) have partnered to create a special brew available in stores and restaurants in the state. Proceeds from the sale of every Hooker Munich-Style Lager will benefit the programming and services of CPTV/Connecticut Public Television and WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio.

“When we were approached by the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company with this unique cause-related marketing opportunity, we were excited,” exclaimed Dean Orton, senior vice president, development and media services, CPBN. “This ‘Munich with a Mission’ brew allows us to pair an award-winning beer beautifully with our award-winning public broadcasting network.”

Curt Cameron, President of the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company also commented on the partnership. “We have always believed that local products create local pride, which is why we felt an instant synergy with CPBN. The exceptional local programs of CPTV and WNPR, such All Things Connecticut, UConn Women’s Basketball, Where We Live and The Faith Middleton Show, provide us with a better understanding and pride in our state. We’re thrilled that our fine lager will support these wonderful programs.”

The Thomas Hooker Munich-Style Lager is brewed in the tradition of a Helles lager, which is popular in the Bavaria region of Germany. Its light golden color is balanced by a rich, smooth flavor. Hooker Brewing Company uses only authentic Bohemian and German malts to create this smooth and flavorful brew. Hooker’s Munich-Style Lager won the First Place Lager Award at the 11th Annual Great International Beer Competition in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2004.
